Exhibiting with CLMS and CLHS in 2010-11
We Heard You! Now Featuring Two K-12 Annual Conference Locations
In response to economic conditions and recommendations from our membership and longtime exhibitors, California League of Schools (the umbrella organization for CLMS, CLHS and CLES) is now holding two comprehensive annual conferences and one technology conference statewide this school year. The audience for all three of these events has been expanded to include K-12 educators, thus expanding the exhibit hall customer base beyond just one grade span.
Each conference location will feature session strands for middle school, high school, and elementary school educators and deliver potential K-12 customers to the exhibit hall.
The conference expansions have been well received by our members and should result in increased attendance numbers, as many districts currently won't approve distant conference participation due to higher travel costs. Now, participants who used to have to wait two years for their annual conference to return to their part of the state can attend every year.
Additional Highlights This Year Include:
The introduction of the California League of Elementary Schools
Elementary teachers and administrators have been attending CLS events for years, and they now have a home with CLS in the form of the California League of Elementary Schools (CLES), joining CLMS and CLHS. Nearly 1/3 of the 2010 Summer Institute attendees were elementary educators.
The Professional Learning Communities and Technology Conference
In addition to dozens of technology sessions, the CLS annual technology conference -- to be held January 14-16, 2011, in Monterey, CA -- will be enhanced this year by the inclusion of a keynote and a full day of training from Dr. Richard and Rebecca DuFour on professional learning communities, plus a keynote and exclusive workshops with Dr. Mark Wagner on using technology in PLCs.
Compelling Speakers
Noted Professional Learning Communities experts Dr. Richard and Rebecca DuFour will keynote and present for two full days in San Diego for the CLS Annual Conference South; differentiated instruction and assessment authority Rick Wormeli will keynote and present for one full day in Sacramento for the CLS Annual Conference North.
