You’re about a month into summer and you’re embarrassed to admit you’re getting kind of bored. It’s ok, we know the feeling! Now is the time to propel your career by taking on professional development that is relatable to you. We’ve curated a small list of ideas to help you get started without breaking the bank.


I want to learn something new or hone a skill I already have.

There are plenty of free courses available on edX.org for educators. This website is designed to help people experience, practice, and apply new skills regardless of their location while learning from powerhouse institutions such as Harvard, the Smithsonian, Stanford, and more.


I want to bring Social and Emotional Learning to a new level next school year.

If you’re looking for ways to help students mentally recover from the pandemic, or simply wish to bring a better vibe to your classroom community, classcentral.org has plenty of free options to choose from.


I want to create a student-centered instructional model in my classroom.

If you have the means and want to create an atmosphere that lets you clone yourself, this free professional development course may be for you.
